My husband and I could not be happier with Mike’s quality services for our home. We decided to put sod in our front and back yard due to decaying grass from poorly installed sprinklers. Mike removed all our old/dead grass, graded the remaining dirt, and as an added bonus: tilled the dirt so we could rake it with ease. The entire process, which I thought would be extremely stressful, felt like a breeze with Mike’s skill work (30+ years of experience), his excellent communication skills, his desire to appease our requests to the fullest, and his constant attention to detail as well as his surroundings. On top of all the work he did, he gave us a plethora of information regarding the fixation of our sprinklers, how to properly lay sod, lawn maintenance, and whatever other questions we threw his way. We could not speak enough about how refreshing it is to work with Mike. We recently hired him to remove a large concrete patio in our backyard and a beat-up concrete path out front. When we called Mike we were desperate. We have a low producing well and to compensate, built a system of reservoir tanks to be filled around the clock intermittently to provide us with a constant supply of water. They are situated up on the land above the house (we built on a steep hillside) to provide gravity drainage. For the prior 12 days before we called Mike we had been without water in the house. We have two adult disabled children in wheelchairs, so packing up and heading to a motel was not an option. We suddenly lost all water. We knew we had a leak because the well was still pumping out water but none of it was reaching the house . We called several providers to help us solve the problem without success. Thinking we needed help as it was proving too much to dig by hand, we contacted Mike by phone, after finding him on Angie’s List. He asked intelligent questions and was professional about assessing our need. He came out the next day, arrived on time, and got to work immediately, which was difficult as he had to maneuver his backhoe up the hillside before he could start digging. It turned out that that was not the answer as the leak was not discovered where we thought it was. We were quite discouraged. Would we have to replace all of the piping 200 feet up to the tanks and then back to the house? Mike could have left as he fulfilled his contract and did exactly what he said he would do. But he stayed and was reassuring and diligent about following the waterlines to and from the tanks. He kept looking for over an hour exploring every possibility, until he found a leaking valve in our sprinkler system down in the manhole at the side of the house. No one had even thought about the sprinklers as the source. What a great detective! He went above and beyond our expectations, both as a professional and a person. And he did not charge us one penny more than his quote. (We did give him a bonus though for extraordinary service.) We can’t say enough about how helpful and thorough he was. We are so thankful we called him and give him our highest recommendation.
